I am truly thankful to be nominated for the blogger recognition award by Liddie Loo and Isadora Too. She’s a mom and life style blogger who blogs about mom life, reviews book and movies, and aspires to be a writer one day. It’s so fun to read about another mom and her adventures in England.
What is the Blogger Recognition Award?
The Blogger Recognition Award is an award that is given to incredible bloggers who have been working hard and putting in the time to create their amazing blogs, they are recognized by other fellow bloggers who recognize their passion and work. This amazing award lets us share with our fellow readers and connect other readers together, showing how much they appreciate being noticed in the blogging community. It’s also a great way to give a helping hand to new bloggers within the blogging world.
Why did I start blogging?
When I found out that what I ate directly affected my health conditions, I knew that eating clean really mattered. However, everyone I looked for help was all or nothing! I thought I was doing great by making most of our food from scratch and being so intentional. Unfortunately the more I read, the more I felt like I was missing the mark.
My husband and I talked and talked about it and finally realized that small incremental growth that we could maintain was far better than extreme diets that took up a huge amount of time and money. I wanted to show other families that any decision you take towards better health is good! You don’t have to go all in. Growth typically takes time! We are still learning ourselves. We even tried whole30 and realized that it wasn’t a great fit for us and decided to stop for these reasons. This diet of 80% really clean food and 20% room to enjoy life just works for us. Side note, I have a gluten and soy allergy so that 20% still has to be safe!
And finally, because of my allergies, I try to offer support to other readers with food allergies in their home in the hopes that I can help and at least close the gap of isolation that allergies can sometimes bring. I just published my first e-book Real Foodie Family’s Guide to Going Gluten-Free.
My Advice to new bloggers:
- Pick something you are passionate about and make sure your passion goes past your niche. For example, I’ve seen first hand that eating clean really helps me and my family, but at the end of the day roasted broccoli doesn’t make me excited to spend my evenings working on my blog after the kids go down. However, the moms I’ve gotten to know and learn about make me want to keep going! I love hearing from my readers and thinking about how I can help them.
- When it gets hard, keep going! Blogging takes a lot of time and work. Especially when you start working with brands. Most things worth doing do not come easily or without hard work. If you get overwhelmed, reach out and ask for help! Keep going.
